What services do we offer
Ultra Sonic Testing and Inspection
The Ultrasonic Testing in Non-Destructive Testing NDT uses beams of mechanical waves (vibrations) of short wavelength and high frequency to test mainly welds and casts. These are transmitted from a small probe in contact with the specimen surface and detected by the same or other probes.
Magnetic Particle Inspection
Slace inspections Ltd can supply Magnetic Particle Inspections (MPI) on site as required. MPI can only be applied to ferromagnetic materials such as steel and iron (excluding stainless steel).
Penetrant Testing
Slace inspections Ltd can supply Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) or Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) on-site as required. PT can be applied to almost any non-porous materials from welds to castings as seen in the photographs.

Welcome to Slace Inspections, Norfolk's leading NDT, or non-destructive testing specialist. We provide a full and comprehensive range of weld testing and welding inspection services to BS EN & ASME specifications. In addition to this, all of our technicians are externally qualified to PCN standard. We can undertake Weld Procedure Approval and Welder Qualifications as required under the CE Marking Regulations that were introduced in 2014.
We can also provide ‘on-site’ testing of welds using conventional inspection methods such as Visual, Magnetic Particle and/or Penetrant Inspection by which we can identify surface breaking faults. In addition, we can carry out Ultrasonic Testing which is primarily used for detecting the presence of sub-surface (volumetric) type faults and which are typically sought in Butt weld configurations.
